CONGO TOWN, Liberia – Sensu Communications Inc. a Liberian Local non-for-profit Media Development Consultancy Group has launched its premier magazine called “Sensu Speaks Magazine”. With its first edition of its kind in the country. The magazine aims to spotlight critical issues and inspire positive change focusing on development news emanating from projects and programs that positively impact community development, gender, civil society, and advocacy.
In a keynote address at the launch, Amos V.S. Sendolo, the vision-bearer, assured that working with enabling experts and an astute Board of Advisors, the goal is that Sensu Speaks Magazine builds the image of projects and programs across Liberia while implementing a dynamic and effective public understanding; creating awareness and giving visibility to beneficiaries, and development partners alike.
Sendolo, who also serves as the managing editor, stressed that the magazine focuses on critical issues and sharing success stories that help amplify voices that needs to be heard and driving positive change within the community.“The magazine is invaluable and has the potential to make a significant impact.”
Mark B. Newa, editor-in-chief, assured the public that the magazine serves as the critical voice to propel the change for programs and projects’ beneficiaries to include youth and women groups, smallholder farmer-based organizations, local civil society actors, faith-based organizations, vulnerable and minority groups, and community leaders.
In a special statement, Mr. Kempeh encouraged the editorial team to remember that each published story can inspire, inform, and empower the audience. “Keep up the fantastic work. “He also encourages the team to considered more sustainable development stories as it is the benchmark or gateway to development exposure in today`s world.
According to him, the magazine is a powerful platform that would bring much-needed attention to critical issues and success stories in community development, gender, civil society, and advocacy. “The dedication and vision of the team behind the magazine are truly inspiring, and I believe it has the potential to make a significant positive impact”.
Bob Woods, SCI senior reporter wrote on his Facebook page: “It’s always great to see new platforms emerging to highlight development news, success stories related to gender, civil society, community development, vulnerable groups, and people living with disabilities. That’s a wonderful vision.”
The magazine aims at covering development issues across Liberia and in the sub -region with an unlimited scope. It is nonpolitical and nonpartisan in its reportage and continue to expose the world to real time development issues from a cross cutting perspective.
Launched Friday, January 3, 2025 in the Crottaz Compound, formerly Wantaga in the Barchee Community in Congo Town, Monrovia, the Sensu Communications Incorporated (SCI), publisher of the Sensu Speaks Magazine, is a Liberian non-for-profit public service-oriented communications and social marketing. Registered since December 31, 2008, the SCI came into existence after been recognized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Liberian Business Registry.
With the vision to promote development communications and social marketing through client services, the SCI is established with the intent to serve the non-for-profit community at large. It is imbued with high quality professionals and well-talented interconnected partners to develop standards and bring out the desired outcome and satisfaction to organizations.
